Workshop on the Wealth of Nations in a Globalising World

18-19 July 2013

Within the WP6, the deliverable 6.3 deals with the organisation of a "Workshop on the Wealth of Nations in a Globalising World" that will be organised by the University of Groeningen. The event will be held on 18-19 July 2013 in Groeningen, The Netherlands and no registration fee is requested.

This two-day workshop aims at exchanging and discussing state-of-the-art knowledge regarding the quantification of various positive and negative aspects of globalization. The emphasis is on macro-oriented studies. Concepts like offshoring, inequality, global value chains and environmental footprints will be central to this meeting. The workshop is aimed at providing bridges between (academic) researchers, employees of statistical agencies and policy-makers. One particular aim is to tackle the challenge of National Statistical Offices in quantifying these effects in a broader measure of welfare.
